Dodgers OF Teoscar Hernandez activated from injured list

By MLB Premium News May 20, 2025 | 4:55 AM

Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was activated from the injured list on Monday as Los Angeles prepared to open a three-game home series against Arizona.
Hernandez was in the Dodgers’ lineup Monday night, batting fifth and manning right field.
Outfielder James Outman was sent back to Triple-A Oklahoma City to make room for Hernandez on the roster.
Hernandez was off to a hot start, hitting .315 with nine home runs and a National League-best 34 RBIs through his first 33 games played. But he suffered a left groin strain in the Dodgers’ May 5 game at Miami and was placed on the 10-day IL a day later.
Los Angeles was 5-7 during Hernandez’s absence and just suffered a three-game sweep at the hands of the cross-town rival Los Angeles Angels. At 29-18, the Dodgers’ NL West lead is only one game over both San Diego and San Francisco.
After earning All-Star honors and helping the Dodgers win the 2024 World Series, Hernandez became a free agent. But he re-signed with the club for three years at a total of $66 million.
The Dodgers’ offense should be boosted with the return of Hernandez, but pitching is a concern with starters Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki all on the injured list.
Outman was hitting only .125 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs while filling in for the Dodgers’ star.
